On Love

Could fulfillment ever be felt as deeply as loss? Romantically she decided that love must surely reside in the gap between desire and fulfillment, in the lack, not the contentment. Love was the ache, the anticipation, the retreat, everything around it but the emotion itself.

Just began reading Inheritance of Loss and liked this line quite a lot.

hmmm, heartbreakingly true, yes, the ache is felt more deeply than the joy of togetherness.

i loved inheritance of loss but Kiran is so like Arudhati.

and arundhati is so damn good...will re-read the God of small things again.
